Welcome to Enfield Children's Centres

Enfield Children’s centres are service hubs where children under five years old and their families can receive seamless integrated services and information. By 2010, every community will be served by a Children’s Centre, offering permanent universal provision across the country, ensuring that every child gets the best start in life.

Enfield Children’s Centres provide the space for your child to develop, learn and have fun as well as a place for you to attend courses, workshops and drop-in sessions
The aim of Enfield Children’s Centres is to enable all children and adults to become:

Children's Centre Core Offer

• Have plans in place to provide health and outreach services to families in need within an agreed geographical area
• Integrated care and learning for children from birth to five is being provided with 0.5 teacher appointed
• Effective links with Jobcentre Plus to support parents/carers who wish to consider training or employment
• Offer drop-in activity sessions for children such as stay and play sessions
• Good quality teacher input to lead the development of learning within the centre
• A base for a childminder network
• Support for children and parents with special needs
• Family support services
• Information and advice to parents/carers on a range of subjects, including: local childcare, looking after babies and young children, local early years provision (childcare and early learning) education services for 3 & 4 year olds

Location

Enfield currently have 16 Children’s Centres of which 9 offer full day-care. Enfield is on target to have 24 centres by the end of March 2010. You can access children’s centres regardless of where you live. Parents and children with disabilities are welcome at all of our centres.
